Every Child Has a Hero Within

Why Your Child Should Take the Young Achievers Dussehra Genius Challenge

Young Achievers Dussehra Genius Challenge by JR Welkin
Young Achievers – Dussehra Genius Challenge | JR Welkin®

This Dussehra, let’s teach our children something more powerful than winning a competition: believing in themselves.

Every parent dreams of seeing their child confident, intelligent, independent and successful. We celebrate their first steps, their first words, their first drawings and every little achievement that makes us proud. But as children grow, an important question arises: Are we giving them enough opportunities to discover their own potential?

At JR Welkin®, we believe that every child has a unique strength waiting to be discovered. Sometimes, all a child needs is one opportunity, one encouraging moment and one challenge to realise, “I can do it!”

This belief is at the heart of the Young Achievers – Dussehra Genius Challenge, an inspiring initiative presented by JR Welkin® in association with BEPIC After School Academy and Natkhat Play School. It encourages children to think, explore, participate and believe in themselves.

At BEPIC, our guiding philosophy is: “We help you to discover the GENIUS in your child.” At Natkhat Play School, we believe in nurturing confident learners who can grow into “Leaders of the Future.”

Together, these beliefs inspire us to create opportunities where children can discover their abilities, develop positive habits and celebrate the joy of learning.

Why connect Dussehra with a child’s learning journey?

Dussehra celebrates the victory of good over evil. The story of Ravana’s ten heads gives us a powerful opportunity to discuss the challenges we face in everyday life.

Today’s children encounter their own battles. Distractions compete for their attention. Excessive screen time can interrupt healthy routines. Fear of making mistakes may stop them from trying something new. Sometimes, a lack of confidence prevents them from showing what they can really do.

The Young Achievers challenge uses this familiar Dussehra symbolism to encourage children to reflect on everyday habits and develop a positive attitude towards learning.

The message is simple:

Don’t just celebrate the victory of good over evil. Help your child build the confidence to overcome everyday challenges.

Five reasons every child should participate

1. Confidence grows when children try

Not every child is comfortable speaking in front of others, answering questions quickly or attempting something unfamiliar. A friendly challenge gives children an opportunity to step outside their comfort zone.

When parents encourage participation instead of demanding perfection, children learn that trying is valuable in itself.

Your child does not need to be the class topper to participate. Every learner deserves a chance to discover their strengths.

2. Thinking skills develop through practice

The 60-second Genius Challenge features ten exciting questions that encourage children to think, recall information and make decisions within a time limit.

Activities like these can make learning feel more engaging and help children practise concentration and quick thinking.

The purpose is not to label a child as intelligent or unintelligent based on a score. It is to make learning enjoyable and encourage children to keep improving.

3. Children learn that mistakes are part of success

What happens when a child gives a wrong answer?

That is an opportunity to learn.

A supportive environment teaches children that mistakes are not reasons to give up. They are opportunities to understand, practise and try again.

Parents can reinforce this lesson by asking, “What did you learn?” rather than only asking, “How many marks did you get?”

4. Healthy competition teaches valuable life lessons

Competition can be positive when it focuses on effort, self-improvement and respect for others.

Through a fun quiz challenge, children can practise following instructions, managing time, staying focused and celebrating achievements.

The most important victory is not defeating another child. It is discovering something new about yourself.

5. Every child deserves recognition

Some children excel in academics. Others shine through creativity, curiosity, communication, sports or problem-solving.

The Young Achievers initiative encourages children to participate in a learning experience where curiosity matters and every attempt is a step forward.

Participants can discover their scores and receive a digital certificate as a celebration of their involvement.

Because childhood should not be only about marks and examinations. It should also be about exploration, courage and discovery.

What is the Young Achievers Dussehra Genius Challenge?

Presented by JR Welkin®, with the initiative supported by BEPIC After School Academy and Natkhat Play School, the Young Achievers Dussehra Genius Challenge is a child-friendly quiz experience that brings together the excitement of Dussehra and the joy of learning.

Here is what children can look forward to:

  • 10 exciting questions to test their knowledge and thinking skills.
  • A 60-second challenge that adds excitement and encourages focus.
  • An instant score experience to discover how they performed.
  • A digital certificate to celebrate participation and achievement.
  • Free entry for children from Nursery to Class 8.

Children of different ages are at different stages of development. Parents should encourage them to participate at a comfortable level and celebrate their effort, rather than comparing their results with those of older children or classmates.

A message to parents: Let your child try

Dear Parents,

In our efforts to help children succeed, we sometimes become so focused on grades, ranks and results that we forget the importance of simply allowing them to try.

A child who attempts a challenge today may become more willing to participate tomorrow. A child who learns to handle a wrong answer may become more resilient. A child who receives encouragement at home may become more confident in the classroom.

You do not have to wait for a major achievement to tell your child that you believe in them.

Sometimes, the most meaningful words are:

“Give it a try. Do your best. Whatever your score, I am proud that you participated.”

Let this Dussehra be an opportunity to start a conversation about good habits, focus, courage and self-belief.

Sit beside your child. Help them register. Let them attempt the challenge independently, and celebrate the experience together.

Your child may not win every challenge, but every challenge can become an opportunity to learn.
